Carl & Esther Elfving
Coordinators
Sweden
Carl & Esther help out as coordinators from Sweden. Below is what they say about why they chose to get involved in Just Earth Uganda:
Esther: Agriculture runs in the family through her grandfather Hans who started Switzerland's largest agricultural organization IP-Suisse with over 18,000 farmers as members.
"The work that Just Earth Uganda does is absolutely incredible. Being able to be involved and contribute with what I can feels fantastic. I look forward to the future and to seeing Just Earth Uganda grow."
Carl: Grew up on a farm and for a long time felt called to be involved and contribute to change in African communities. After a good conversation with Wilberforce, Just Earth became an obvious work to get involved in.
"I look forward to helping with what I can and my main goal right now is to improve communication to all donors in Sweden"

Hamidu Mulumba
Caretaker
Farming, Uganda
My name is Hamidu Mulumba, and I've been a caretaker at Just Earth Uganda's demo site in Rakai district for seven remarkable years. My journey began when I was part of a group contracted to plant trees around the farm before the school opened. I was drawn to the kindness and dedication of the team, led by Amos, and their commitment to bringing valuable training to my community.
When offered the opportunity to join the support team, I eagerly accepted. Working with Just Earth has transformed my life. I've gained hope, learned valuable skills, and developed a strong work ethic. Amos' encouragement and guidance helped me see a brighter future.

Mercy Nabukenya

My name is Nabukenya Mercy, and I serve as an Administrator with the Mission World of Hope Foundation. I have dedicated nine years to this ministry, and my experience continues to be profoundly rewarding.

Winfred Nyamutale
Administrative representative
Admin, Uganda
I chose to work with JEU because I was inspired by Dr Apollo from Kenya who started JEK single handedly.
He was an old man, left a government paying job and went to help his people in the rural areas. I was a classroom person but always wanted to work with the local community but had never had a chance like this one to interact with the grassroot people. When Pastor Wilberforce brought the idea I saw it as a chance to serve the grassroot people. I decided I could channel the knowledge I had acquired over the years to share the little I have and also learn from the community. jEU activities are a one on one contact with the people. You learn from them and they learn from you. Seeing people make a change in Thier lives gives me great satisfaction. The closer I get to farmers the more I understand their dilemmas, we talk about them and find solutions especially women issues. I studied development studies, and public health leadership which involved reproductive health, gender based violence and HIV AIDs, on this job level alot is shared with people one on one as we talk and inspire each other to keep working hard and find means of solving issues of GBV and reproductive health. Being part of communities feels more rewarding.
